FAQ about Mesa

1. How do I check my student's grades?
Create a parent account on Aeries. Aeries is directly connected to teacher's gradebooks so you can see what assignments students are missing and the score they received on assignments that have already been graded. Click here to request a Aeries account.

2. How do I contact my child's teacher?
You can reach your child's teacher through email or by phone. You can find teacher contact information in Aeries or on the staff directory

3. What should I do if my student is failing a class?
Talk to your student. Find out if they are struggling with the content or if they have missing assignments, especially if they have had absences. Check Aeries together to see what assignments your student may be missing. Encourage your student to talk to their teacher about setting up a time to meet outside of class (i.e. at lunch or after school) to discuss their progress in the class. If these things have been done and you are not seeing progress, reach out to your child's teacher through email or by phone. You can find teacher contact information in Aeries or on the staff directory

4. My child was absent. How do they get their missing assignments?
Have your child contact their teachers to get their missing assignments. The day that they return from their absence they should speak with their teachers. If your child knows they are going to be absent they can let their teachers know ahead of time. If they are home ill or injured but are still able to reach out to their teachers they can send them an email

5. Do you offer extra help or tutoring for students?
We offer the free Bright Futures after school program for students. Bright Futures at the middle school is very different from the Bright Futures (or other after-school programs) offered at elementary schools. Bright Futures at Mesa offers small group tutoring by a Mesa teacher in various content areas including Language, math, social studies and science. Bright Futures also offers Homework Club which provides a space for students to do their homework and offers access to a computer if needed.
